PRIDELINES HOSTS VOLUNTEER RECRUITMENT
by: Richard Murry, Pridelines Youth Services

Pridelines Youth Services is looking for dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers who want to make a difference in the lives of South Florida's LGBTQ youth. Anyone interested in learning more about volunteer opportunities with Pridelines is invited to an informal volunteer recruitment event on Saturday, July 31, from 11 a.m. to noon, in the Miami-Dade Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce's LGBT Visitor Center, 1130 Washington Avenue, First Floor North, Miami Beach.

At the event, Executive Director Victor Diaz-Herman will present an overview of the diverse volunteer opportunities with Pridelines, including:
• Facilitating a program – leading or monitoring one of the many youth group activities Pridelines produces.
• Joining a committee – expertise or sweat equity is welcomed for the grant writing, programming, volunteer coordination, marketing, fundraising, corporate support, finance or legal advisory committees.
• Administrative support – assistance is needed for a wide range of office skills, from data entry, to filing, to event set-up and general help around Pridelines' new office.

To RSVP for the volunteer recruitment, contact Victor Diaz-Herman at victor@worthit.com or call 305-571-9601 by Thursday, July 29 at 5 p.m.

Pridelines Youth Services is a grassroots 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created by gay youth for gay youth and their allies in the wake of Anita Bryant's "Save Our Children" campaign. Pridelines' mission is to support, educate and empower South Florida's LGBTQ youth in a safe and diverse environment as well as to foster dialogue and cultivate social change. For more than 28 years, Pridelines has provided safe space, social support, skills building, leadership development and referrals to mental health, health care and support services for LGBTQ youth and their straight allies between the ages of 13 and 24.

Pridelines is located at 9526 NE 2nd Avenue, Suite 104, in Miami Shores. For more information about Pridelines, call (305) 571-9601, or visit www.pridelines.org.
